Sunset on the Stump
This has been an amazingly lazy day for me. I didn't get any of the things accomplished that I needed or wanted to accomplish. I keep asking hubby if I can quit my job so I can stay home and finish tasks, but all he ever says is "No." Darn it.
Over the weekend I did get to hear a world premiere Beethoven concerto. World premiere, you say? Yes, apparently he wrote this concerto when he was 18 and it was recently found amongst some of his other works in the British Museum. It's beautiful, too. If you'd like to hear it you can listen here at NPR's website.
I also heard "Pines of Rome," and I don't recall ever hearing it before. It was fantastic. I need to start listening to classical more often. I forgot how wonderful it makes me feel. Believe it or not, I have more classical CD's in my collection than anything else. I just don't get to listen to them that often because my children pretend to hate classical music. ;) One of my favorites? Adagio for Strings, by Barber.
Saw the preview for Spielberg's new movie starring Tom Cruise: War of the Worlds. Looks pretty good!
