Poor Weedy...my Dad, who was always taking care of sick and hurt animals, brought him home for us to take care of after he had been hit by a car. After we had him for a while Weedy got his eye caught on a corner of his wire cage and ripped his eye out. It was horrible. My brother and I were certainly traumatized-probably as much as Weedy himself. However, Weedy's life became considerably better when I got my own rabbit. Boy, do those little suckers like to breed. Of course, my rabbit ate most of her babies if we didn't get out there in time to save them. I tell you what, there's just nothing quite like coming out to a cage of a half-eaten baby rabbit when you're about 8 or 9 years old. Especially when you have a father like mine: "Yes Rachel, you and Joseph were a couple of the lucky ones...rabbit mothers are not so different from human mothers."

;o) Isn't my Dad SO funny?
