I just don't get it. It's practically brand new but I've had it for just long enough that the warranty has expired. I rarely use it because shortly after I got it I also got a digital. I take perfect care of my cameras and I don't know what could be wrong with it. :( It worked perfectly Saturday and I was going to use it Tuesday and it just wouldn't work. The battery icon flashes, and of course I replaced the batteries and I still get that *! icon flashing. In the "Troubleshooting" section of the manual it says that there is probably a communication problem. *sigh* I called a repair shop and they said it is probably the aperture base plate--whatever the crap that is.
Here's my question (did I mention that I had a question?): The repair shop (an authorized Canon dealer) said that it would be about $112 to fix. I paid $500 for the camera just over a year ago (got it from B&H Photo). Should I have it repaired knowing that I only use it ever so often? I sure do love it.
*sniffle* :(

I think you should get it repaired, since you love it so much. Sounds like it's worth the 100 bucks or so. :)
P.S. I just love your pictures.
I love this photo also. So clear and beautiful colors. I've not noticed many butterflies this year, so I'm glad to see this one.
I'd fix the camera if it were mine.
