Nashville

Today Kandi and I were supposed to go to Franklin, Tenn., but she wasn't able to go so Marshall said he would like to take me as one of my Christmas presents. The townsfolk there dress up like characters from A Christmas Carol and walk around in character. It was supposed to be really awesome. We got ready and waited around the house for a little bit to make sure my tummy wasn't going to cramp up like it has been (aren't you glad to know that?) and it appeared to be ok so we took off.

We got there after waiting in traffic for what seemed like forever. We never did see what was causing the delay but did see roadwork signs along the way. It took us fifteen minutes to go ONE mile. We finally made it there and spent another 10 minutes waiting to find a parking spot in the parking garage. :)

Apparently everyone in Tennessee and Georgia thought it would be a good idea to go to this and they were all there, too. Franklin is a beautiful old city, with most of its buildings being built in the 1800's and early 1900's. And there were characters from A Christmas Carol; we saw Marley, Scrooge, all the ghosts, and finally as we were walking to our car we saw Tiny Tim. By that time we were tired, frozen, and couldn't wait to get in the car. The bright spot was eating at the Mellow Mushroom. It was YUMMY! The people really do a great job of being in character and their costumes and make-up were great. We did enjoy it but I really don't think it was worth driving as far as we did to see it. It was a nice experience.

Since it was so packed in Franklin and it was kind of not what we expected, we didn't want to just go back home, so Marshall wanted Cain to see Nashville since he had never been there before. We drove there and walked around for about an hour, until we couldn't feel our lips or fingers anymore. I love Nashville, but they are so many homeless people there and we were asked more times than I can count by one person or another for money. It makes me feel really sad. :(

Anyway, we're home and just got finished watching Madagascar. It was great. :)

Have a great night.
