Dog Tired

This dog was down at the farm where my Dad and I loaded rocks yesterday. He picked up this chunk of wood and wanted me to throw it to him but first you had to get it away from him. :) I'd throw and he'd bring it right back. I loved the contrast of his beautiful brown eyes against that black fur. I like big ol' dogs. :)

Whew, I'm exhausted. I worked my butt off ALL day today on this house. I got a lot accomplished so I'm quite pleased with myself. I did some major spring cleaning, but still have a ton to do. Tomorrow I'm going to tackle the basement and I sure dread that. :( It always feels good to get everything all clean though, so it'll be well worth all the trouble. :)

Brooke got home around 1:30 and we got ready, waited for Marshall, and then drove the almost-two hours to Cain's baseball game. He only got to play a couple of innings. We got run-ruled in the 4th inning. The team was the same team that run-ruled us in our first game of the season. Our boys aren't doing so well at all; it's pitiful to see. :(

The temperature today was 78 degrees! It may have gotten higher than that but I noticed that on the school sign as we were headed to the game. I'm SO ready to turn our furnace off for the year and to start leaving the windows open all the time. I love spring. I have three flower bushes in the yard that are blooming and they are gorgeous. :) I love my yard anyway, but especially in the spring.

The little ol' lady across the street is 93 and she's moving in with her daughter. They had a moving sale yesterday and I got some really nice things for all of $10.50. I bought a chest of drawers (although we say "chester drawers") for $1.50 (yes, that's one dollar and fifty cents). It's very old, solid wood and it's awesome. I'm totally in love with it. I got an old rocking chair for $2 that I'm also totally in love with, a corner shelf with five shelves for $4, a microwave for Brooke to take to school for $2, and an antique serving cart for a quarter. I'll have to take a photo of it and show you, but my good buddy Kathy M. said that they sell those things in antique stores for usually no less than $125. I bought it because it reminded me of one that my grandmother had but I had no idea they were collectible. I also got some Tupperware bowls and a couple of old plates, and she gave Marshall got a VERY old toolbox that weighs more than Brooke (which most things do) that he's very excited about. She also had a table and a china cabinet for sale, nothing fancy, just a basic set-up that I wanted really bad. So we put our table and chairs out there and a couple of other things and made enough to buy the china cabinet and her table and chairs. :D I'm MOST pleased of that. Aren't we smart? :)

Well, it's late and I'm tired. Have a good night!

Wow! You lucked up on that sale! I love stuff like that ;~)

Enjoy your weekend...looks like rain here. It was 78 here yesterday, too!

We're throwing the windows up this morning and airing the house out (lord knows it needs it lol)!

That doggie is gorgeous!

It warms my heart to hear about the time with your dad. The best things in life are indeed free.

I heard I missed you last week whilst I was on my deathbed (I got better). This is becoming a bad habit and I think we should break it ASAP.

Deb~I know, and I kept asking her if she was sure about selling the things for those prices. I felt like I was stealing from her. :(

So far my weekend has been fantastic. I hope it doesn't rain on yours the whole time!

Tim~Isn't she precious? At first I thought she was running towards us to brutally attack us so I hightailed it to the car, but she ran right up to my Dad and let him pet her, then came to me for a second and then ran and got the wood. It was funny. :)

I'm sorry I missed you yet again. Hopefully we can all get together for lunch pretty soon. :) Glad you're feeling better!
