A Terrific Day!

Today was a wonderful day! We got up early and had breakfast and I cleaned out the 200 lbs. of stuff that has accumulated in my car since Cain has been driving it every day. Marshall got out his golf clubs and we used one of his golf coupons and went golfing at the foot of Lookout Mountain.

The golf course was beautiful. And as you probably know, I don't play, I just take pictures. We always have such a great time. Marshall enjoys it so much and I'm so glad that we got to go. He works himself way too much, so he really unwinds when we go.

If you read yesterday's blog you know that my grandfather's furnace messed up and completely covered the inside of his house with soot. The soot went into every single room in the house because of the vents. He called me Saturday and asked me to come up and see if there was anything that I wanted. My grandmother, and from what grandpa told Marshall today, my great-grandmother, was a packrat. Unfortunately I also have the packrat gene, so of COURSE I wanted to go through everything. :) I got a lot of stuff that's not worth a dime, but means a lot to me because it was hers. :)

His house looks ok now. His insurance company sent people up there to clean up the house. They took anything that they could pack up, curtains, art prints, photographs, dishes, clothes, bedding, towels, etc, down to a place near Rome, Georgia, to be cleaned. His house, as you can see in the photo, is bare of everything. When the walls and the flooring and everything is clean, the insurance company will send people in to paint the walls and take care of everything else. I tell you, my grandparents built a great house. I absolutely love it. I can't wait to see it back to normal.

I hope your day was beautiful, too!

Isn't it fun to go through stuff? I wish I had a chance at some of my Grandma's stuff too...

That is a fantastic photo... A truly photojournalistic photo.
