Whew, I'm Exhausted!

This morning I got up and took Cain to school and then headed to the mountain to spend the day with my Dad. He had asked me the night before if I wanted to go with him just over the state line into Alabama (we're about 15 minutes from the state line) to a farm where he was going to get old rocks out of dry creekbed. The rocks had previously been used in rock walls or chimneys. This is something we used to do all the time when I was a little girl and we were building the house on the mountain. I always loved going with him and exploring (and falling every two steps I took from what he says) while he loaded the rocks. Anyway, he wanted me to go because the man that owns the farm where we got the rocks from also has several mules that Dad thought I might like to photograph (Val, hope you're reading this!). There was no way I was going to pass that up! :D

I ended up only take a few shots and then started helping him load the rocks. He has done this his whole life, but you know, he'll be 64 on March 20th (which, by the way, is also my birthday if anyone wants to go over to my wishlist and buy me that stuff on there, AND it's also Chrisi's birthday). I was afraid he was going to give himself a heart attack because some of those rocks were HUGE. He really makes me worry, but you know, my Grandpa is almost 90 so I'm hoping Dad will live well into his 90's, too. We got two loads of rocks and I'm so tired I can barely even type. :)

The mules were SO beautiful, and quite comical, AND quite mean! They were biting the snot out of each other. They were VERY large, as you can see in this photo. My Dad is 6'4" and this guy was taller than him! I enjoyed my day with my Dad very much. :o)

I left Dad's and headed down to a little town close to Rome, Ga. Cain had a baseball game and hey, guess what? We lost! Now we're 0-5. Isn't that grand?! Cain got walked twice and hit in the arm once so he never had a chance to hit the ball. :( It was a REALLY boring game.

Awesome mules. LOL, they aren't being mean when they bite and fight...they are actually rough-housing. Gorgeous shots, thanks.!!
