We didn't get home until three this morning. We had to get up at 7 to get ready to be in Fort O. at 8:30 for Marshall's Christmas party. It's almost 8 p.m. now and I'm not sure how or why I'm still awake. Cain is at work so I'm sure he's exhausted. We missed the first quarter of the game last night because my HUSBAND couldn't leave work when he thought he could. Had that been ME that caused us to be late, he would've had a meltdown. It was ok though, he drove about 90 MPH to make up for lost time. *rolling my eyes* And no, I'm not kidding. We argued over his speed most of the way down there.
I don't know why he wouldn't drive faster. ;)
Anyway, the game: Lincoln County was beating us 41-0 at the half. I think the final score was 57-7. We were hoping they would just put their cheerleaders in so that we might've had a chance. Lincoln County is the real deal. I hope they win at the Ga. Dome. Their boys were great sports and very humble in their victory.
The Christmas party was lots of fun. We had breakfast at a local restaurant with all of Marshall's co-workers (all seven of them) and their spouses, and of course Marshall's boss. She is always very generous with her gift giving.
Marshall and one other employee celebrated five years with the company and Lola (the owner of the company) bought them both a set of Callaway x18 irons. I wasn't aware of how exciting that was, until all of the guys collectively oohed and ahhed.
When I got home I Googled the irons and the STARTING price for them is $899. Yes, you read that correctly. $899. Nothing in our house is worth $899. Anyway, Marshall was quite happy and *I* was happy for him. He never ever ever buys anything for himself and obviously this gift was something that he certainly wouldn't have got on his own. I can't wait for him to be able to use them. :) I took a photo of one of them so you can see how bright and shiny they are. ;)
I raked the front yard today and got one side of the sidewalk finished and then my rake broke. :( I think my thumbs did, too, but it's my rake I was distraught over. I love to rake. Man oh man do we have the leaves, too. I'm going to go to Ace tomorrow and get another one I reckon. Besides, I've got to finish. The yard looks goofy now with half of it raked and the other half still covered with a blanket of leaves. My buddy Chrisi stopped by and showed me her new puppy. It's really cute as pie. She was not even half the size of my big ol' honkin' puppies yet she had them bullied on the ground. We were cracking up. :) I love puppies. They're so very funny.
Have a good night. :)

I think maybe you have something of great value with that lamp. It looks similar to some that my grandmother had in her house, which sold at the estate auction for A LOT of money.
I love, love, love the lamp. I was so excited when I saw it on the shelf that I thought I was going to pee my pants. ;)
