(Mostly) Wasted Day

Today was mostly wasted by an extremely long meeting held at one of our sister offices. It was even more of a pain in the rear since the guy speaking to me and my co-workers carried on and on and on about NOTHING.

One bright spot was when we (me & my buddies, Chrisi & Tim) decided to sing old songs from the 70's. We broke into our own version of "Summer Nights" from Grease that would've knocked your socks off. It was awesome. Chrisi can really cary a note!

Ok, I'm just kidding about that part. We didn't sing at all. But we DID enjoy a nice meal at BJ's in Calhoun that was yummy-deelish. If you're ever in Calhoun I suggest going by there. We had a good time riding together, especially when we made fun of all our other co-workers.

Kidding about that part, too, but we did have fun riding together. I got new tires today and that made for a fun driving experience. You see, the tire company didn't have all four tires so I was only able to get two; two tires that were bigger than the tires that were already on my car. I bet Chrisi and Tim both hope that they get to ride with me EVERY time we go down. :)

When we got back to work I called Cain and he took my truck up to get the other two tires put on while I finished some stuff up at work. After I left work for the day I met Marshall at the house and we got ready and headed off to the high school to watch the girls & boys basketball teams.

We ate at The Tavern in Trion and honestly, you need to go there as soon as you get through reading my blog. It's absolutely gorgeous and the food was fantastic. I'm not sure why we've never gone there before. It was super-inexpensive and I cannot believe how beautiful it was on the inside. It's in an old house and they had their Christmas lights up. It was stunning. That's where the photo above was taken. Marshall loves it when I pull the camera out. Can you tell?

We thoroughly enjoyed watching the basketball games and I sat with my good friend Kathy who I haven't seen since baseball season. It was wonderful getting to spend time with her.

On the drive home we saw a shooting star. I was tickled pink. I haven't seen one in so long and this one was bright and seemed to fall right in front of us. Just a lovely, lovely way to end the evening. :)
