Coach Brooke

I got to see Brooke coach tonight for the first time. She is the coach of a girl's JV team at a high school here in south Georgia. After the game I told her I think she needs to yell more and be more intimidating. The girls sure don't seem to pay much attention to her when she's trying to tell them something (which makes me mad). She has decided though, that she doesn't want to coach. She wants to teach so I'm very happy about that.

Cain and his friend Paden (who's with Cain on the hunting trip) went into town today to get some hot chocolate and some firewood for their campsite and Cain called me when he got phone service. He said that he and his Daddy saw a bear today. He said they were sitting about 100 ft. (or maybe he said yards) apart and that his Daddy came and got him and they moved on. He said they saw the bear going up the side of the mtn. I made sure to let him know that if a bear came towards him that shooting a bear usually doesn't kill the bear, but only makes it mad. That scares me to death. I'm sure they are all being very careful, but still!

Brooke and I went to the brand new Chili's after her ballgame and we were craving their chicken crispers something fierce. They were out of chicken. :( We both ordered a steak and Brooke's was burnt on one side. They flipped it on her plate so you couldn't see the burnt part until you cut it. We called the waiter over and Brooke told him she didnt' want it. My steak had no taste whatsoever. I drown mine in ketchup and ate about five bites of it, but otherwise, it would've been like eating cardboard. They took the cost of Brooke's steak off of our order and we were thankful for that, but we were still disappointed--and hungry. We came home and I had Raisin Bran for supper and Brooke had a sandwich. I'm sure that Chili's is normally good, but we sure hit it on a bad night. Blah.

3:10 to Yuma comes out next Tuesday. You better believe that I'm going to be in line to get it as soon as the store opens. If you still haven't seen it then you need to rent it. :)

When was the last time you received a surprise in the mail, and what was it? My friend Heather got me a gift subscription to National Geographic several months ago and it was a great surprise to open my mailbox and see that magazine in there. :)

If you could have a summer and/or winter home, where would you want it to be? If I could have a summer home, I'd want it to be in Destin Beach, Fla., right on the beach, and if I could have a winter home, I'd want it to be in Colorado or near Yellowstone or Yosemite, on about 100 acres of land. :)

Describe the nicest piece of clothing that you own. I don't really own any nice clothing. I'm not a clothes horse. My favorite piece of clothing right now is my flannel PJ's though. :) Not that you asked about my favorite, but still...
