This photo is probably too small for you to tell, but this mosaic of Jesus is made out of thousands of tiny little pieces of tile. We spotted it going down the road back in Hot Springs, Arkansas several months back. The storms that hit most of the south came our way really hard at a little after 8 a.m. I was watching the news because I knew they were bad, and then the sirens went off and our weatherman said that if you were in the city I live in that you need to stop listening to him and head to a safe room. I grabbed Lucy and my cell phone and went down in the basement and stayed for quite a bit before coming back up to check the news. I don't know if one touched down because I just haven't heard, but it scared the soup out of me. Anyway, I prayed and was so thankful that we in our area were safe.
I'm disgusted with myself today. As much puttering about as I do around this house there's never ONE room clean to my liking. What little motivation I have today just goes away when I enter a room and see how gross it is.
My living room needs to be swept, mopped, & dusted. Again.
My bedroom is a disaster with junk everywhere. As usual.
My dining room table has paperwork all over it that I need to go through.
The kitchen counters are a mess.
The bathroom needs to be cleaned.
There are probably 4 loads of clothes waiting for me downstairs. That's my fault though, I keep putting it off but it is getting done as we speak.
Don't get me wrong. I'm so thankful to have my home but I'm SO tired of this NEVER-ENDING pile of clutter and messiness. I don't like having a dirty house, but it's dirty and it's making me in a bad mood. Ugh! On top of all that I'm busy doing other things and I really just need to quit complaining and get my rear in gear.
Oh, and I did end up cooking last night and it was pretty good. I baked a chicken with the usual side dishes but I also made green bean casserole. I've never made that before and it seemed to be a hit. I don't (and won't) eat green beans but I have to admit that it smelled good with all the other ingredients that went into it.
Ok, I've embarrassed myself to the point of getting up and getting stuff done. Wish me luck. :)

Relax a little... or just get a house boy (grin). What am I gonna do when he leaves me one day?
I love the mosiac! I want to do some this summer around the pool.
Hi, Rachel,
Ran across your blog from a Technorati search for Hot Springs. Is your family any kin to the late Stuart Pennington?
My DH and I moved here five years ago when he was transferred from Louisiana with Weyerhaeuser Co. We absolutely love it!
About your clutter: Did you happen to see the recent Oprah show where she intervied the guy that wrote Does This Clutter Make My Butt Look Fat? He's really got some good insight on the matter.
As for Hot Springs, geographer Warren Bland recently named Hot Springs, Ark. the No. 1 place in America to retire.
I gotta admit, Hot Springs is a pretty cool place to live, even for those of us who aren't yet retired.
