Almost There!

(second post for the day)

So I guilted myself into getting some things done around here. And mind you, my house is usually always clean --well, at least parts of it are anyway--but sometimes I slack in the housecleaning department.

I've taken down and put away all the rest of the winter things. I have several snowmen scattered throughout the house so they are all put away. Normally (and I know this is dorky of me) I don't put them away until March 20--which is the first day of spring (and also ummm...oh yeah, my birthday!). I just have a "thing" about not putting decorations out for one season when the prior season isn't over with.

Anyway, the dusting, sweeping, and mopping of the living room is finished; all those winter things are put away. I've got two loads of clothes finished and about 2 or 3 more to go (I'll never let that crap pile up again!). Now I've got to start supper here shortly and I'll clean off my countertops in the kitchen as I go. Oh! And I also got all the paperwork out of the dining room. It's all in my bedroom now but at least pretty much everything I need to do is confined to one room. :)

You wouldn't BELIEVE how my mood has improved. And what? All for less than a couple of hours of work? :)

Honey just got home and gave me two more invoices to do, so after I strangle him I'll get started on supper.

Oh, and one more thing. Heath Ledger. It says he died of an accidental drug overdose. This is from CNN:

"Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine," the office said in a short statement.

"We have concluded that the manner of death is accident, resulting from the abuse of prescription medications."

Hydrocodone and oxycodone are painkillers. Diazepam is an anti-anxiety drug commonly sold under the brand name Valium; alprazolam is also an anti-anxiety drug, sold under such names as Xanax. Temazepam, sold under such names as Restoril and Euhypnos, is a sleeping agent, as is doxylamine.

For Pete's sake! Who prescribed him all of that medication? Why isn't this stuff monitored better?

I'm sure you've heard reports of an interview he gave shortly before his death where he talked about his problems with insomnia. He said that his body would be exhausted but his mind kept going. My problem is exactly the opposite: my mind is so tired and wants sleep so much, but my body goes into overdrive.

I can see where he'd over-medicate himself. I've often thought of combining this drug with that one to see if it would knock me out. However, we're talking Benadryl with Unisom or something like that; certainly not hydrocodone or Oxycodone or anything that strong! Poor kid...it just breaks my heart that he's gone. :(

Well, let's get some invoices done. *grumble* Have a beautiful afternoon!

Hydrocodone and oxycodone are painkillers--yes they are but taken in access they will make you hyper! That in turn will keep you from sleeping. So then you take the sleep meds and anti-anxiety meds to make you feel less jumpy and get some sleep.
No I have not done it. But I was prescribed Hydrocodone after surgery and although it stopped the pain...or made me NOT care, I could not sleep. My mind raced for hours. It is not a pleasant feeling.
Good exercise is the cure for that!
Oh and you are correct? How many doctors did he see to get those meds?
Geesh.
