This afternoon my red-shouldered buddy flew into the yard across the street and allowed me to get a few shots before she took off.She and a sibling were born in my neighbor's yard but the sibling has been gone for a while now. If memory serves, this gal is about two years old. I see her or hear her every day. She's a frequent visitor to my birdfeeders--but not for the seed. SHE is interested in having one of my birds for dinner. One day, about a month ago, she almost flew right into me when I stepped out on my deck. She was chasing a brown thrasher and I'm not sure which of the three of us was the most scared. We all scared each other quite badly. :)
I had to run to Trenton this morning (which is over on the other side of Lookout Mtn. and my hometown) and take care of a couple of bills. Lucy was with me and I think the mountain made her a little car sick so after I paid the bills I headed to the cemetery to my grandmother's gravesite. It was the weirdest thing, and I can't explain it, but I wanted to take a picture of her marker. I looked through my viewfinder and watched the screen turn white! I opened the LCD screen and it also turned white! I went ahead and took the shot and this is what happened:
When I got home, my honey, and Cain and his friends Jake and Josh, made me the birdfeeder I've been begging for for months. We had all of the wood and nails left over from when the deck was built so this was a free project. I'll be hanging suet feeders on it, too. I couldn't be more excited about it. :)
Tomorrow I'll be going with my pal Kandi up to my Dad's house while she designs him a website. I have so much to do but I'll be glad to mark this off my "To Do" list so that I can move on to the next project. :)
Have a great night!

Wow designing a website? That is cool. Someday...
I loved your series of the red shouldered hawk, what a beauty, I am amazed at the flight shot, that took some real doing!
I saw an eagle yesterday up close and personal. I did not dare go for my camera, I could only watch, entranced.
