Ouch

I spotted this little beauty at Kandi's house today. She said that he has been there before. You can walk right up close to him before he hops away. I love rabbits. I think his coloring is beautiful.

We worked on getting some of the painting done in her studio today. My arms feel like they might fall off at any minute. We have so much to do, too. I can't wait to get it finished so we can move in her furniture. It's going to be beautiful.

Some of you may not want to read this part because I'm going to talk about (get ready) female issues! *gasp*

I had a total hysterectomy when I was 32 (waaaahh---32, I wanted more babies!). I had endometriosis and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). Here are some of the symptoms from PCOS:
  • Irregular or absent menses
  • Numerous cysts on the ovaries... (I had so many cysts that my cysts had cysts) ;)
  • High blood pressure
  • Acne
  • Elevated insulin levels, Insulin Resistance, or Diabetes
  • Infertility
  • Excess hair on the face and body
  • Thinning of the scalp hair (alopecia)
  • Weight Problems or obesity that is centered around your mid section
I had all of those symptoms except for the elevated insulin issues, no excess hair on my face and body (thank goodness!) and no high blood pressure.

I had been treated for all sorts of things and finally, one day saw an advertisement in the Sunday paper that asked if you had any of those symptoms and said that if so, you may have PCOS. I took it to my WONDERFUL doctor and he did a ummm...whatever that scope is called and sure enough, that was what was going on. He also found the endometriosis and told me he couldn't even believe I could still walk upright--that I should've constantly been bent over in pain. :( It is a witch of a disease. My surgery to remove all the endometrosis should've taken an hour and a half but took FOUR hours--it had grown all over everything--they couldn't even find my gallbladder because it was so covered.

Aren't y'all glad I'm sharing this? You're welcome! ANYWAY, those same pains are coming back; the exact same pains I had before my hysterectomy. I've been doing a bit of research and I've recently just discovered that a hysterectomy does NOT cure endometriosis."

Apparently even just seven years ago doctors didn't realize this, or at least mine didn't realize it--or if he did he sure didn't fill me in. I know that the hysterectomy helped with so many things BUT, if I could go back and NOT have that surgery, that's one thing I'd change in my life-- for so many reasons. I feel cheated, really.

I do need to go to the doctor but right now we don't have insurance because BCBS who we've been insured with FOREVER is still "reviewing" our application. We have no health insurance right now. Who knows if they will approve us or not, and if they don't we're going to be in a pickle. I'm taking Advil for the pain but it's getting worse and I'm going to bet anything that it is the endometriosis coming back. :( I'm frustrated over that.

Rachel... ugh. Don't get me started on what Doctor's don't tell you, what we don't see... what a big load of crap insurance companies are... UGH!
Ok, that's over... ;)
I will be praying for you.
I hope your application will get approved, but you know there are high deductable policies you can take out... one where it will cover everything over such and such an amount. We are thinking of doing away with our insurance and taking out one of these policies... the ins doesn't pay for anything we have done anyways. ;) But Praise the Lord, we don't go to the Doc much either.
Love to you,
Chas

Ouch. I have PCOS too.. best birth control going but damn the extra hair!

If you would like, we can hop you up on Irish whiskey and get after you with those vicious wooden skewers Marshall brought to the last cookout. I'd do that for a sister, almost as fun as popping zits.

I'm "that" friend.

Love you
