Brooke, Marshall, and I went to Noccalula Falls in Gadsden, Alabama today. We enjoy going there a few times throughout the year, plus we're trying to squeeze out every inch of time we can with Brooke before she goes back to school. :(
We walked down to the falls, which isn't a bad walk, except for about 50 or so REALLY steep steps (I only counted to 37 because I was getting sick). You can walk behind the falls, which is where they are standing in that photo above. :)
On the way back up I almost passed out. I'm a fatty, fatty two-by-four, but I can do some walking. I can walk and hike with the best of 'em. That's why I can't believe the walk back up bothered me like it did, but I could feel my heart pounding in my HEAD. It felt like my heart was thumping all over my body. I imagine that the heat, plus no water in my backpack, plus the prescription narcotic I took yesterday evening still making me woozy didn't help matters any. After I rested for a bit, and watched Brooke look at me with a little bit of that "ohmygosh!" look in her eyes, I was ok. How humiliating...
We had a great day though. Brooke made me laugh so hard on the way back home that I drooled. Yes, I drooled. I couldn't catch my breath but whew... A Honda Element passed us and Brooke said, "I bet when people who have those cars get out of them they say, "Whoa, I feel like I'm out of my Element!" Seriously, I can't remember the last time I laughed that hard, and Marshall JUST had to look over at me at the exact same time I drooled. I'm sure he thought that was really sexy. :D He just nodded his head and said, "Only the two of you would think that was funny." And he's probably right, and that's ok. :) Well, that may not be true: I'm pretty sure Cain would've laughed, too.
I don't listen to country music so I don't know if this song was ever a hit or not, but I LOVE this it so much. I can relate to every single lyric, minus "I don't know my father well enough" but that part about "know my mother well enough" still applies. I first heard the song on Yahoo's LaunchCast Radio, but I was kind enough to find it for you on YouTube.
I couldn't find the "real" video for it, but I'd suggest just listening to the song...you don't have to read the words. LOVE it!
Night!

I trained to hike the damned Inca Trail. You saw me do it. I'm out of breath and about to die walking across the parking lot into the building at work. Pregnancy sucks I tell ya.

I must admit that whole "out of my Element" thing is pretty funny. Perhaps its a Mom thing.. dunno, but it's still funny.
