So...Miserably...Hot

It is SO horribly hot outside that you can't even stand to be outside.  I still stayed out there for the majority of the day, but seriously, we need rain and we need cooler temps. Good gracious!

Speaking of rain, Brooke and Chad have been without power for most of the day because of Tropical Storm Debby.  They live in Panama City, Florida, and they're getting pelted with rain from the storm. Lucky dogs is what I say. ;)

Tonight I made chicken-fried steak (which I hate), fried squash and okra (which I hate), peas (which I hate) & mashed potatoes and gravy (which I don't hate).  Hubby had been asking for that meal so I obliged, even though I didn't eat. Blah...

I got my recipe for the chicken-fried steak from the Pioneer Woman cookbooks. She has two cookbooks and I love them both. They are seriously the best cookbooks I've ever owned. They are chock-full of photos showing each step of the preparation.  I HIGHLY recommend the cookbooks. They are here:

The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Food From My Frontier
and

The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Recipes From An Accidental Country Girl

Trust me, you'll LOVE them.

You're welcome!
