Hard Work & Blisters

I woke up promptly at 7 this morning and put my work clothes on and waited for it to warm up so I could get outside and rake up the last of the winter leaves. There was frost on the ground this morning. Frost, and it's almost April!

I asked my hubby if he would take me over to the Pocket so I could see if there were any wildflowers blooming. I looked at my blog from this time last year and it's around the same date Kandi, Ricki and I went over and shot for a while. Sure enough, the flowers were blooming; well, not all of them, mostly just the Virginia bluebells, and the celadine poppies. I took quite a few shots of them, but the poppies were mostly closed and the bluebells were almost starting to wilt. I don't know if it's because I waited so long to go over there, or if our stupid frosty nights are causing them to look rough. Unfortunately it's also turkey season so we didn't stay there long as there were hunters back there. :(

We came back home and I ate my yummy delicous Cheerios and then headed outside. I raked for THREE hours. I know that's not monumental or anything but whew, my back and legs are giving me heck from so much bending over to put the leaves in my wheel barrow. My elderly neighbor brought over a big tarp and told me to rake the leaves on that, then haul them out to the road. :D I'm so thankful for my neighbors. Especially today. :)

You bet, been using the tarp method for yrs. I drag all the mess under the fence and into the pasture...recycling, I call it.
Beautiful flowers...ours aren't peeking out yet.
