Look Who's Getting Better!

I went to see my precious Daddy this morning and he looked FANTASTIC. You know, minus his hair. ;) Hee hee! He is doing so, so much better when you consider that he could've easily died last week (per what his doctor said, not what I'm saying).

I guess this is day 36 or 37 in the hospital and he has lost a total of FORTY-EIGHT lbs. in that amount of time. He is very, very weak, and is still having difficulty eating. If he continues to improve, he will get to come home on Monday, IF he does a good job eating. He has to at least three meals a day, and no less than five bites out of each of those meals.

We still don't know what was going on with him, but hopefully he will make a full recovery and never have to go through any of that again.

My Dad is a very active guy. He's 64 and he and my stepmom hike up and down the side of the mountain collecting wildflowers and whatnot, and I'm sure you've all seen the photos of me and him loading all those rocks. He's not the type to sit in a chair and watch tv. He's got a way to go, but he WILL get there.

Marshall worked, came home for about 30 minutes and got called back to work so I went up to Eric and Dawnia's and hung out with them for a bit. I had a great time. :) I came back home and Marshall and I were going to go up to the mountain to watch fireworks but Cain' first day of work was today and he STILL isn't home. I didn't want to go without him.

Hope you're having a pleasant weekend.

Thank goodness, Rachel. I know I don't know either of you, but I read you blog faithfully, and I've felt all along that your dad was going to make it. He is just to strong and young. I know he's just not finished with his work. I'm so glad to see him better. He's going to need his fill of tomatoes, squash, and okra this summer.

I am so glad to hear that he is doing better. Still thinking of you and your family cause it will take some time for him to fully recover from this.
