Merry Christmas Eve!

My mind keeps reflecting images of Christmas past. I can clearly see my arms wrapped around my grandmother when I was about 10 or so, giving her a tight squeeze in return for a gift that she gave me: a book packed with photographs of horses. I can see her smile as plain as day. I know that she will be in my heart and on my mind all day. Besides Marshall, Brooke, and Cain, there was no other person on earth that I loved more than that woman. No one. I'm going to miss her even more than normal these next couple of days, this being my first Christmas without her.

Christmas without her seems almost unbearable. Especially when I hear my friends talking about going to their families homes to celebrate Christmas. I'm so envious and I hope those people who still have their grandparents realize how lucky they are. :)

Marshall and I got up early...well, actually *I* got up early this morning. Know why? Because I heard some man scream to the top of his lungs. I think he was being murdered. Guess what though: it was a dream, but it still startled me and there was no way I could go back to sleep. So anyway, when Marshall got up at 8 we got dressed and went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. It was so very delicious. I love Cracker Barrel.

After breakfast we went to Wal-Mart to get a few groceries and other misc. items. Later, we took our neighbors a fruit tray that we made up with fresh fruit and a cute little festive tray. We have the sweetest neighbors, they are elderly, and the mister had a stroke a few weeks ago. They're always so good to us; bringing us fresh vegetables from their garden, watching our house and pets when we're away, I mean we just couldn't ask for better neighbors. I hope they have a wonderful Christmas.

Tonight we won't be going anywhere, which makes me pretty sad. Don't get me wrong, I'm in a terrific mood and life is good, but I sure do miss those family gatherings of old. I guess it's time to start new traditions. I think my first one is going to be a Christmas Eve nap. :)

Have a beautiful evening, fellow friends.

Confidential to D&E: FIVE more days! :D :D :D
