What A Day!

This morning I woke up at 5:30 and stayed in bed just listening to the wonderful peace and quiet for a while. I got out of bed at 7 and fiddled around as long as I could before waking the kids. Funny how the roles have reversed. They used to wake ME up at 5:30 or so, anxious to start opening their gifts. But THIS morning, they were still snoozing away at 8, so I went in there and started jumping on Cain's bed to wake them up.

At first I just jumped on the foot of the bed, but to no avail. Cain has a king-size bed and it's on the floor (he wanted it that way) so my jumping didn't even phase them. I moved up to the middle of the bed and jumped and they started stirring. When they still didn't acknowledge me I moved up by their heads and jumped. Finally when Brooke opened one eye and looked at me I said, "Oh good! You're awake!" She didn't seem to enjoy my antics very much.

They finally dragged themselves out of bed and opened their gifts. They seemed to enjoy everything that we got for them and Marshall and I also got several gifts. I'll have to tell you about Christmas Eve, too, when I'm not so tired. We had a BLAST with Singstar Rocks, a game that we got for Brooke; we've never laughed so hard. :) It just felt so great, all of us being together. :)

We were lazy for most of the morning, and finally got motivated enough to get ready to go to Daddy's for Christmas dinner, apparently a NEW tradition for our family. My stepmother cooked a wonderfully delicious meal and we really enjoyed spending time with them.

Brooke and Cain dozed off not too long after we ate, as you see in the photo above. :) I thought they looked adorable.

I hope your Christmas was filled with love and togetherness. Mine sure was. The only thing missing was my mother, who I still haven't heard from. :(

Merry Christmas!
