Today hubby and I had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants and then decided to head up the mountain to see my Dad. I couldn't wait to tell him about the Rose-breasted Grosbeak that I had (four males, actually) at my house.
When we got there we fiddled around the yard for a bit then I was telling my Dad about my birds when a brilliant flash of blue caught my eye. NOT ONLY does my Dad have the Rose-breasted Grosbeak (left in the photo), but he also has the Blue Grosbeak (top right) and the Indigo Bunting - a bird that has eluded me for years - literally. I was THRILLED that I was able to get those photos above and in a bit of disbelief that my Dad has those birds just eating seed off of his walkway. Lucky him!
