Cain made that birdhouse for me. We attached it to this old cedar log and within an hour we had bluebirds (Eastern BB's) looking at it. Actually just the male is checking it out. I imagine the female is on eggs already somewhere.
We couldn't believe a bluebird was looking at it because a) everything I've read says that the nesting box has to be pretty specific (this one isn't) and b) they supposedly don't like red (this one is). We have several boxes built just for bluebirds (three, actually) and no takers so far. This red one is closer to the house. Maybe they will like it and move in. *fingers crossed*
Tomorrow I'm going to go buy some flowers to put around it. We are really trying to pretty our place up. :) Marshall has been working really hard and the place is looking great. :)
